    Orexin B

Orexin B is a naturally occurring neuropeptide consisting of 28 amino acids, derived from the precursor protein prepro-orexin. It is one of two closely related orexin peptides, alongside Orexin A.Orexin B is studied for its interaction with orexin receptors, particularly OX2R, which are involved in signalling pathways associated with arousal, energy balance and neuronal activity. In laboratory research, Orexin B is investigated in neuroscience, neurobiology and metabolic signalling studies, with experimental work examining receptor activation, neuronal signalling and downstream cellular responses.

    Laboratory Research Data Analysis

    • 28-amino-acid neuropeptide
    • Derived from the prepro-orexin precursor
    • One of two orexin peptides: Orexin A and Orexin B
    • Interacts primarily with the OX2 orexin receptor (OX2R)
    • Involved in neuronal signalling and arousal pathways
    • Studied in neuroscience and neurobiology research
    • Investigated in relation to energy-balance and metabolic signalling
    • Cell-based assays: analysis of receptor activity and cellular signalling
    • Used in research examining orexin receptor activation and downstream pathways
